Hello to everyone and welcome back. I hope you had a restful and fun Semana Santa.
Projector Workshop:
This Thursday from 8 AM until 1:30 pm we will be running projector workshops in the library much like the photocopier workshops. Each workshop will take about 15 minutes and should work to clear up any lingering doubts and concerns you may have with respect to connecting and using projectors in your classrooms. There will be a sign up sheet in the library for the different sessions. This will be on the librarian's desk by tomorrow morning. Everyone is required to attend. Eventually we will have more projectors to the point of one for each classroom and it is important that everyone is as comfortable as possible with this, what has now become essential, educational tool.
ENLACE exams next week:
Please remember that the ENLACE exams are coming up next week for grades 1 through 9. We still have not been told the exact dates! However plan for three complete days of classes and two days that will involve the students writing exams from approx. 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. The SEP coordinators will fill us in on the details ASAP probably by Wednesday.
Rainy Day Dismissals:
It is forecast to rain most of the week. If we need to do rainy day dismissals please note the following:
1. Rainy Day dismissal will be announced at about 2:20 pm.
2. Students should return to their homerooms at this time with all their things ready for dismissal (middle school students may need to get things out of their lockers before returning to their homerooms).
3. Students need to sit quietly and LISTEN for their names to be called.
4. Students who normally are picked up by their parents on foot should be allowed to go down to the patio at 2:30. Please insure that all students who are normally picked up by their parents at the gate go down stairs at 2:30 pm
5. Students with gate passes should be dismissed at 2:30 pm to go directly to the gate.
6. We will supervise students who are dismissed at 2:30 to stand under the awnings to watch for their parents.
7. Students should not be in the hallways or making noise during the dismissal.
8. When students hear their names called or their CARPOOL number they should go directly down to the patio and out to their vehicle.
9. Students in afternoon sports will be allowed to go to the cafeteria at 3:00 pm.
10. Afternoon sports will be delayed half an hour if their is a rainy day dismissal.
11. As quickly as possible after 3:00 pm remove your vehicle from the bodega.
12. At 3:00 PM you may want to place the remaing students together in some classrooms to assist teachers to leave the bodega.
13. Students in classrooms must have active supervision at all times during Rainy Day Dismissal.
THE ADMINISTRATION CANNOT EMPHASIZE ENOUGH THE IMPORTANCE OF STUDENTS LISTENING FOR THEIR NAMES AND GOING DIRECTLY OUT TO THEIR CAR WHEN THEY ARE CALLED. PLEASE HELP US GET THE STUDENTS OUT OF THE SCHOOL AS QUICKLY AND SAFELY AS POSSIBLE IF WE HAVE RAINY DAY DISMISSAL. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we won't have to do all the above!
Have a great and hopefully sunny and dry week!
